Editorial policy
Our editorial aim is to make claims clear, context visible and uncertainty honest. Readers should be able to tell the difference between established information, interpretation and a possibility being considered.
Accuracy and context
We take care with names, dates, definitions and descriptions of places. Articles should provide enough context to avoid flattening different societies into one account. We do not present forecasts as settled outcomes or claim certainty where the subject does not support it.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made for relevance and clarity to readers. A partnership or commercial relationship does not determine an article's conclusions. Where a relationship matters to a piece or placement, we identify it plainly so readers can assess the context.
Corrections
If you spot a possible error, contact us through the Contact page and identify the article and passage. We review correction requests and update material when a change is warranted. Significant corrections should be made clear in the article rather than hidden.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid or partner-supported material is labelled so it can be distinguished from independent editorial work. Some illustrations are AI-generated; when an illustration is AI-generated, we label it accordingly. Illustrations are not presented as documentary evidence.
The future is plural, not predetermined
Change does not follow one script. We look at distinct places, choices and possibilities without treating Asia as a single story.
